Trip to Charleston

We decided to take a short two-day vacation before we start our busy summer. We had such a wonderful time in Charleston. It's so nice living in an area where the beach is less than two hours away. We did some site-seeing in Charleston and took Ian to the beach for the first time. He loved it and had a great time jumping in the waves with Steve. We also had the opportunity to see Alex and Leah Millan and their children. We had a picnic lunch with them down at Waterfront Park and let the kids play in the fountain. It was such a relaxing time.

Strawberry Jam

In an attempt to become more domestic, I tried my first attempt to make strawberry freezer jam. It was super simple and turned out great. I hope it turns out as good as Mamaw's!

Strawberry Picking

They say that rainy days will bring out the best strawberries to pick. So, Steve took off Monday morning and we ventured about 35 minutes away to Gilbert, SC to see what we could find. We had a wonderful time picking two gallons of strawberries, which Steve says are the most delicious that he has ever had, Ian loved them also.

After many months of beginning Ian's "homeschooling" . . . (Trying to teach him to say "please" in sign language) he surprised us one day . . .

Riverwalk in Columbia

These are some cool pictures I took the other day. Steve surprised Ian and I and took us down to the Riverwalk here in Columbia. We walked the trail for a while and then Steve took Ian down where he could get a closer look at the river. It was such a beautiful day and fun to spend time together as a family.

Ian loves his "dada"!
